My Career Awaits Me

Got into Dental Hygiene School! Hooray!!! I really happened to luck out; the school called me TWO DAYS before school started and said that someone had dropped out and I was welcome to take their place.  So obviously I did.

It's been a blast and I've really learned so much so quick.  I'm now in my 5th week of school, and though it's filled with tests galore, I'm simply loving learning all this information.  Literally find it fascinating!

Happy 4th!

Welp, it's definitely about time that I update this blog of mine.  Time's a ticken!  Seriously my life is flying before my eyes!  I just thought I would update on a couple of recent events.

#1-I'm back home in the good ol' AZ and I'm working back at AZ Pediatric Dental Care as a dental assistant, and I love it!  I feel like that's my home where my good friends are :)

#2- 27 DAYS UNTIL ELDER LARSON GETS HOME!! Could I get any more excited? Psych: NO! I'm way excited to the point where I've got a count down going! It started at 50 days and now I'm in the 20's.less than a month! This doesn't seem like reality to me, that's for sure.

#3-My niece Ashley Perry is here visiting from Peru!  It's been fun seeing Ash here since we really don't get to see her too often.  She traveled from Peru by herself to be able to go on the trek this year with our ward.  While she's been here we've done lots of things.  Such as:

Fireworks at the Diamondback's game

Going to MIM - Musical Instrument Museum

And last but not least, going to the temple for family baptisms:

Happy 4th of July to everyone, and may the second half of your year be just as grand!

Makin' Memories

It’s almost the end of school and finals are just around the corner! Not quite the time to celebrate, but really close. Although, I’ve had to embrace the fact that this could potentially be my last experience at BYU. But, who knows what the future holds in store though I wish I did know.

This weekend, on March 31 and April 1, 2012 I had the splendid opportunity to listen to the 182 Annual General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Boy was it an amazing conference! So many of the speakers were so inspired and had perfect things to say. I really felt like the theme was talking about families and children, which naturally, being a female just makes you that much more excited for your own! I would have to say that my favorite talk probably came from Dieter F. Uchtdorf who talked about relationships with others. If anyone is interested in reading, listening to, or watching any of the talks, here is the link http://www.lds.org/general-conference/sessions/2012/4?lang=eng. An interesting fact about Sunday session of conference: David Archeleta (or as my mom and I call him, Archebabe) sang in the choir. Right behind him was my friend Jayce Tilly! That right there is my claim to fame.

After the relaxing yet inspiring conference, two of my roommates: Lindsay and Natalie, and I decided to go take some pictures at the temple. LOVE MY ROOMATES J

P-Town News

Alright, time for a weekly (well more like every other weekly) update!

This was a great weekend, and a great week to begin with! Lets start with Thursday.

Thursday March 22, 2012 - This was the opening night of the Hunger Games, and my roommate Natalie and I weren't going to that. So we decided to have our own party! First off, we were in the craziest mood, and so we decided to take a break from the homework and make a movie! So that we did! We called our show: "The Kladilie Show" which I will be posting in the next couple days. Then we took a dip in the spa and had a crazy night indeed!

Saturday March 24, 2012 - Festival of Colors! So basically the Festival of Colors is a traditional Indian Holiday where basically you through colored chalk in the air to symbolize the coming together of different religions. Check out the pictures!
Here's the Hare Krishna Temple: Spanish Fork, Utah
Sunday March 25, 2012 - I got to go to a ward fireside where Sister Sheri Dew came and talked to a few of us. Because the size of the group was relatively small it was a more intimate and personal talk with us. She even personally thanked me for playing the piano!

Last but no least, I got a 95% on my statistics test today! Totally made my day! So I celebrated with a shopping spree at the BYU bookstore and got a ton of souvenirs!!

Happy Birthday!

Well, I am now officially an aunt to 16 nieces and nephews! Happy Birthday to both Grace and Hannah Perry born March 14, 2012 at 8:30 am. Congratulations to my beautiful sister Jamie Perry! Jamie and her family of 7 kids live in Lima, Peru right now, so it'll be a while until I get to see them. Regardless, I am just as excited and can't wait to meet them!

It's a...It's a...It's a package!!

I have so much to say that I don't even know where to begin! Let me begin by saying this weekend was fantastic to say the least. Such a wonderful change from what I had been feeling earlier last week. Anyways, I'll start from the most recent and build my way back.

Monday March 12 - I GOT A PACKAGE FROM ELDER NATHAN LARSON YESTERDAY! I couldn't be any happier, in fact, I'm pretty sure I am the happiest girl in the world. I hadn't heard from him in a while, and so this was really nice to get 2 letters from him plus a few extra goodies. It's so crazy to think that Nate has already been gone for 20 months. Time really flies.
Sunday March 11 - Had a fireside and a girl's night over at Olivia's apartment where we had some delicious homemade chili. YUM!

Saturday March 10 - This was definitely a visit Provo weekend! I had a surprise visit from the one and only Sandra Mazzarelli! Well she wanted to surprise me, but I kinda ruined it...I wasn't
home when she got to my apartment. That was fun I missed her. Then I got a call from my mom's long-time friend and her husband Michele and Rod Barker, I simply love them! They called to say they were in Provo and wanted to take me out to ice-cream! So we went to Cold Stone and got delicious ice-cream. Thennnnn, that night, Erin Mortensen got into town - haven't seen her in ages!! Well, I introduced them to the one and only Sammy's shake place, then we caught up, played some night games with my ward, and watched "In Time" with Justin Timberlake. So good! We had a bit of a struggle with the TV, but eventually we got a laptop set up with my i-pod system for the sound. LOL oh dear.

Friday March 9 - GOT AN A ON MY MUSIC TEST! This was the first A I had gotten in a while, so this was an accomplishment to say the least! Oh, and not to mention I had gotten work off earlier that day because I did so well on this project the day before. Lucky me. Then I got to celebrate by going on a date with Andrew. We went to yummy J-Dawgs, then the BYU lacrosse game where we completely dominated (even by half-time), ordered some pizza, and then went to see Sherlock Holmes at the dollar theater where both of us fell asleep.

Well, that was the highlights of my week/weekend! I hope these great times continue to come!

What an Exciting Day!

Well, where do I even begin with this story? I know I'm a little behind blogging, bare with me! Anyways, this weekend, I had the AMAZING opportunity to go to SLC with Natalie, Lindsay, and their friend Erika, and see the So You Think You Can Dance Auditions live! This was quite the exciting experience! But I will let my pictures do the talking :) Enjoy...
Here it is! The real deal!
The fabulous stage
Look how close we are to the judges! And we end the day with a beautiful sunset :)

Girls Will Be Girls

This week has been a rather stressful one, but there's no better way to take away the stress than having a fingernail painting party with your best friends and watching Pretty Little Liars! Lindsay and Natalie are the best roommates, I love them!

Too many events of these past two weeks occurred, including (but not limited to): finding out I didn't make the dental hygiene program this year, taking a plethora of tests and coming out with too many B's, realizing I might have to choose a different career (after having had mine chosen for the past 5 years), being sick with a cold, having my left lymph node swell up to the size of a bowling ball? (I still don't know what to thing about that), finding out shocking information from back home, etc. The things just keep piling up!

Fortunately for me, I have a very wise mother who loves me very much. She offered me wise counsel and reminded me that many other people are going through worse times than myself. I don't have the room to complain. This is only an opportunity for me to turn to my Heavenly Father and become closer to Him; I need to be grateful for the opportunity I've been given. She reminded me of a quote I have taped in my bathroom at home by none other than Gordon B. Hinckley. He said:

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers." -Gordon B. Hinckley

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, Happy Valentine's Day! And especially Happy 100th Birthday Arizona! Boy how I miss Arizona and the good ol AZ heat! I'm ready for the summer time, that's for sure.

This weekend was sure adventurous! On Thursday night, I had a girls night with Lindsay Landvatter, Natalie Fielding, Olivia Laney, and Tayler Burks where we went and saw the midnight showing of The Vow. It was pretty descent; I'm not quite sure it lived up to what I was expecting though. But overall it was fun. Funny part was, we were so excited that we got there like 3 hours early, were
the first people, so we left and got Sammy's shakes, and went back to the theater. Good times!

Friday night, was another big night! First Lindsay, Natalie, and I stopped by my good friend Carlee Terry's Pennies 4 Presents "Black Tie Affair" formal party to kick off the new non-profit organization she's starting. I'm really proud of her, she's having a great success! Good luck Car!

After going to the "Black Tie Affair" we went to play broom ice hockey with some kids from the ward. That was crazy fun! Basically you have no skates, but you run around on ice in your tennis shoes with a stick and a ball, pretty fun!

Then, tonight on Valentines, Andrew Van Every picked me up and we went out to dinner at Los Hermanos. It was super yummy :) Then we went back to the apartment and watched a weird movie with his roommate Scott, and my old roommate Cassandra. Thanks for the fun night!

College Life

Well, I really haven't updated this post since I was maybe a Sophomore in High School! I decided now that I am away from school, it's time for me to start making updates to my life. Good way to start the 2012 year as well.

In January, I began the new year returning to a new wonderful
roommate: Natalie Fielding! She's been a lot of fun to do things with, and I've really enjoyed having her around, I think I might keep her :) This is a picture of the beautiful Natalie Fielding herself! I also have 4 other amazing roommates that have been a lot of fun: Lindsay Landvatter, Tayler Burks, Chelsee Willardson, and Hunter Holt!

This semester I was thrilled to become an official Cougar. I began taking classes at BYU just for the fun of it! I'm taking Statistics, Child Development, Book of Mormon part II, Music 101, and a piano class. It has been fun getting back into school as I felt that that was something picked going to school over traveling to Thailand this summer with my roommate Lindsay. Eventually I'll make it to Thailand! I was supposed to be doing. In fact, I plan on eventually doing it next year.

Midway through January I received the wonderful privilege of being able to work as a secretary at the International Center for Law and Religion Studies at the J. Reuben Clark Law Building. Wow, quite a long title it is, but quite a respectable title! The interesting part about taking on that job, was when I found out that the man who officially hired me is the same man that my brother Doug worked for many years ago; what a small world! In any sense, I've thoroughly enjoyed working there, and this will be a good experience!

Now it's February, and this is the month that I found out if I get accepted into the Dental Hygiene program or not. I'm very excited, and I'm keeping my hopes very high! If I get accepted I will be beginning the program in August. I will be keeping everyone posted on that.
