Girls Will Be Girls

This week has been a rather stressful one, but there's no better way to take away the stress than having a fingernail painting party with your best friends and watching Pretty Little Liars! Lindsay and Natalie are the best roommates, I love them!

Too many events of these past two weeks occurred, including (but not limited to): finding out I didn't make the dental hygiene program this year, taking a plethora of tests and coming out with too many B's, realizing I might have to choose a different career (after having had mine chosen for the past 5 years), being sick with a cold, having my left lymph node swell up to the size of a bowling ball? (I still don't know what to thing about that), finding out shocking information from back home, etc. The things just keep piling up!

Fortunately for me, I have a very wise mother who loves me very much. She offered me wise counsel and reminded me that many other people are going through worse times than myself. I don't have the room to complain. This is only an opportunity for me to turn to my Heavenly Father and become closer to Him; I need to be grateful for the opportunity I've been given. She reminded me of a quote I have taped in my bathroom at home by none other than Gordon B. Hinckley. He said:

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers." -Gordon B. Hinckley

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, Happy Valentine's Day! And especially Happy 100th Birthday Arizona! Boy how I miss Arizona and the good ol AZ heat! I'm ready for the summer time, that's for sure.

This weekend was sure adventurous! On Thursday night, I had a girls night with Lindsay Landvatter, Natalie Fielding, Olivia Laney, and Tayler Burks where we went and saw the midnight showing of The Vow. It was pretty descent; I'm not quite sure it lived up to what I was expecting though. But overall it was fun. Funny part was, we were so excited that we got there like 3 hours early, were
the first people, so we left and got Sammy's shakes, and went back to the theater. Good times!

Friday night, was another big night! First Lindsay, Natalie, and I stopped by my good friend Carlee Terry's Pennies 4 Presents "Black Tie Affair" formal party to kick off the new non-profit organization she's starting. I'm really proud of her, she's having a great success! Good luck Car!

After going to the "Black Tie Affair" we went to play broom ice hockey with some kids from the ward. That was crazy fun! Basically you have no skates, but you run around on ice in your tennis shoes with a stick and a ball, pretty fun!

Then, tonight on Valentines, Andrew Van Every picked me up and we went out to dinner at Los Hermanos. It was super yummy :) Then we went back to the apartment and watched a weird movie with his roommate Scott, and my old roommate Cassandra. Thanks for the fun night!

College Life

Well, I really haven't updated this post since I was maybe a Sophomore in High School! I decided now that I am away from school, it's time for me to start making updates to my life. Good way to start the 2012 year as well.

In January, I began the new year returning to a new wonderful
roommate: Natalie Fielding! She's been a lot of fun to do things with, and I've really enjoyed having her around, I think I might keep her :) This is a picture of the beautiful Natalie Fielding herself! I also have 4 other amazing roommates that have been a lot of fun: Lindsay Landvatter, Tayler Burks, Chelsee Willardson, and Hunter Holt!

This semester I was thrilled to become an official Cougar. I began taking classes at BYU just for the fun of it! I'm taking Statistics, Child Development, Book of Mormon part II, Music 101, and a piano class. It has been fun getting back into school as I felt that that was something picked going to school over traveling to Thailand this summer with my roommate Lindsay. Eventually I'll make it to Thailand! I was supposed to be doing. In fact, I plan on eventually doing it next year.

Midway through January I received the wonderful privilege of being able to work as a secretary at the International Center for Law and Religion Studies at the J. Reuben Clark Law Building. Wow, quite a long title it is, but quite a respectable title! The interesting part about taking on that job, was when I found out that the man who officially hired me is the same man that my brother Doug worked for many years ago; what a small world! In any sense, I've thoroughly enjoyed working there, and this will be a good experience!

Now it's February, and this is the month that I found out if I get accepted into the Dental Hygiene program or not. I'm very excited, and I'm keeping my hopes very high! If I get accepted I will be beginning the program in August. I will be keeping everyone posted on that.
